Canterbury
This project had high ratio of stirrups versus main bar increasing the labour content along with extremely complex beam column junctions. To be competitive and deliver exceptional service we had to think differently.
At tender time we came up with an option to prefabricate the beams that included installation of stop ends at beam column junctions, saving our client labour.
This also gave us the ability to get ahead of the carpenters and save time on the ground when the site was ready for the reinforcing to be installed, as well as being a far safer method of construction.
As one of our telehandlers was on site to assist with prefabrication, it was also used to lift the reinforcing steel to the 1st level, saving our client the cost of hiring in cranes.
